Director of Performance Excellence, Baker Hughes
Wendy Harris is Director of Performance Excellence at Baker Hughes. With 20 years of experience in the field of Health, Safety and Environment, she is known for her forward-thinking approaches and her research into organizational HSE culture and measuring HSE climate. Before Harris joined Baker Hughes in 2001, she worked in the insurance and industrial construction industries.
Harris takes an active interest in improving HSE performance within the industry and in the continued development of HSE professionals. Her focus is to leverage the disciplines of Culture, Leadership, Learning and Human Factors to achieve performance excellence in every task. She works within the industry and has served in multiple capacities with such groups as the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) Safety and Security Committee; the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE); the National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) Oil and Gas Extraction Sector Council; and planning committees of various industry HSE forums.
Harris holds a Doctorate degree in distance education from Regent University, a Master of Science degree in environmental sciences from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University.
